چکیده

In this supplementary document, we introduce some basic concepts in the continuum mechanics for readers, who may not be familiar with some of these terminology and models. Stress is defined simply as Force/Area, but some complexity arises, because the relative orientation of the force vector to the surface normal dictates the type of stress [2]. When the force vector is normal to the surface, as shown in Fig. 1, the stress is referred to as " normal stress " and represented by σ [2]. When the force vector is parallel to the Fig. 1. This figure shows force vector normal to the surface or parallel to the surface. Copyright Wikipedia [9]

Classification of Prostate Cancer Grades and T-Stages Based on Tissue Elasticity Using Medical Image Analysis

In this paper, we study the correlation of tissue (i.e. prostate) elasticity with the spread and aggression of prostate cancers. We describe an improved, in-vivo method that estimates the individualized, relative tissue elasticity parameters directly from medical images. Although elasticity reconstruction, or elastograph, can be used to estimate tissue elasticity, it is less suited for in-vivo ...

Document Analysis And Classification Based On Passing Window

In this paper we present Document analysis and classification system to segment and classify contents of Arabic document images. This system includes preprocessing, document segmentation, feature extraction and document classification. A document image is enhanced in the preprocessing by removing noise, binarization, and detecting and correcting image skew. In document segmentation, an algorith...

Prostate cancer radiomics: A study on IMRT response prediction based on MR image features and machine learning approaches

Introduction: To develop different radiomic models based on radiomic features and machine learning methods to predict early intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) response.   Materials and Methods: Thirty prostate patients were included. All patients underwent pre ad post-IMRT T2 weighted and apparent diffusing coefficient (ADC) magnetic resonance imagi...

Clinical and Pathological Features of Iraqi Patients with Prostate Cancer

Background: The clinical pathological features were detected by measuring the prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) activity according to the stages and grades of prostate cancer. We also explored the relationship between the disease and age with family history among the patients. Methods: Data were collected from direct interview and from the patient’s records. Blood samples that collected before ...

Analysis of Hip Joint Dose in Prostate Cancer Radiation Therapy: A Dosimetric Comparison of Treatment Plans

Background and purpose: Radiation therapy as a part of cancer treatment is used in almost 50-60% of involved cases. In prostate cancer radiation therapy, a large volume of pelvis is irradiated, so, it is necessary to preserve sensitive organs around the treatment area, especially rectum and bladder. In this study, some dosimetric parameters such as minimum dose (Dmin), maximum dose (Dmax), mean...
